Children’s Ministries at Grace
Grace Baptist Church’s children’s ministry exists to glorify God in the church by providing purposeful, Christ-centered instruction for the formative years of a child’s life. Our mission and passion are for our children to know God, love God, and serve God. We are excited about partnering with you as parents to minister God’s grace to your children!
Infants & Toddlers
Our infant and toddler nurseries exist to serve our body by introducing little ones to Jesus at the earliest age possible. We work hard to maintain a clean, safe, and fun environment for your children, and we recognize that our goals are much bigger than mere babysitting or daycare. Our children receive gentle care and a foundation of truth as our workers introduce them to Christ in various ways. The infant nursery is for newborns through confident walkers. Our toddler nursery is for early walkers through independently potty-trained toddlers. Here, toddlers have a chance to enjoy some fun while learning about God’s love.
Sunday School & Junior Church
We believe that children can learn deep truths at a young age because the Holy Spirit is at work in their hearts, opening their eyes to truth. Short, simple lessons plant gospel seeds in the minds of these young children. Teaching is balanced with story time and often a snack to keep these children engaged in instructional discipleship. We believe that as we plant and water with God’s Word, He will bring forth a harvest in the lives of our children. For more information about our Sunday School programs, please visit our Welcome Center and speak to a greeter about our current list of classes, teachers, and room locations.
Awana Clubs
Here, we focus on foundational doctrinal knowledge as an essential part of learning about our great Creator. We want boys and girls to know both what they believe and why they believe it—and to love it!
Awana provides a wonderful opportunity for parents to “teach [God’s Word] diligently unto [their] children” (Deut 6:7). Each book is geared towards a specific age level and provides a method parents can use to memorize Scripture as a family and/or one-on-one with their child as they prepare to recite the answers and verses assigned each week. Awana Clubs meets on most Wednesday evenings during the school year and is available across four age levels ranging from 3-year-olds up to 6th-graders.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School (VBS) is an entry point to church and Christianity for many young people. It offers a powerful and unique opportunity for sharing Jesus Christ and positively impacting the Raleigh community for the kingdom of God. As one of our most strategic outreach tools, we include age-appropriate apologetics with a gospel emphasis and provide challenging experiences that continue to stimulate spiritual growth for churched children. VBS also assists our church family in establishing long-term relationships with families in our community.
Reaching children of all ages
Childhood is when we build the foundation on which the rest of our lives can be built. That makes it a crucial time for developing believers. At Grace Baptist Church, we take our children’s ministry seriously, both in terms of helping our children learn and grow in God’s Word and in keeping them safe. We use age-specific activities and smaller class sizes to bring our children together and to encourage their spiritual and emotional growth. As a parent, we hope you will partner with us in reaching your child for Christ and helping them grow in the Lord.
